Shifting Seas and Solid Ground — A One-Day Playshop with Phil Porter!

• Tuesday, January 26th, 2016

We’re very excited to be able to host Phil Porter, one of the founders of InterPlay, for a full day Playshop here in Portland, on March 12!

Description:  Sometimes it can seem like the world is going a bit crazy all around us, even as we continue to fold our socks, photograph our meals to post on Facebook and pay the utility bill. How do we handle the changes in the political and social landscape and also stay grounded and centered in our simple lives? How do we continue to find the rich new territories on the horizon?

Over the course of the day, we’ll play with what’s on our minds and hearts, what we long for and where we think we’re headed. We’ll share our own stories, hear the tales of others, move together and move apart, sing quietly and at the top of our lungs and find delicious community—which is really the answer to many things, isn’t it?

Come to make a new friend and deepen ongoing connections. Come to laugh and to lament, to lambaste and to learn. Maybe even pick up some new playful tricks to life and creativity.

Date:  March 12, 9 AM to 4 PM

Location: Waverly Heights United Church of Christ, 3300 SE Woodward St., Portland, OR

Cost: Sliding Scale $60-75. Some scholarship funds may be available. Playshop can be paid for on the day of the event in cash or by check payable to Hilary Himan.

Please reserve your spot by emailing Hilary Himan at  We need to know we have enough people coming!

Registration and gathering from 9-9:30AM.  Playshop begins at 9:30AM.

Lunch is from 12noon – 1:30pm, with neighborhood eateries within walking distance. A list of restaurants will be provided at the playshop.

Spread the word, and come play with us and with Phil!
